India is being ravaged by a second wave of the Covid-19
India is currently being devastated by a deadly second wave of Covid-19. The country is experiencing the world’s worst outbreak, with new cases surging past 400,000 per day and breaking the record for the highest single-day figure globally. Hospitals have run out of basic medical supplies, with many patients dying due to oxygen shortages. Family members are driving from clinic to clinic, frantically searching for ICU beds for their loved ones. People are gasping to stay alive as they wait for critical care beds and treatment. Crematoriums are overwhelmed; photographs of makeshift funeral pyres have become iconic images of an unspeakable tragedy

Child Sponsorship FAQs
Child sponsorship is the commitment you, as a sponsor make to change the life of a deprived child through recurring contributions. It is a relationship between you and your sponsored child. This relationship is aimed to give a better life to the child while you have the satisfaction of having invested in building a better future for our children.
Yes! All contributions to Care For A Child Program are tax-deductible in the United States. You will receive a receipt for each gift you give.
The minimum amount to sponsor a child is $30 a month. Annual sponsorship opportunities are also available at $360 and bi-annual at $180. You are also welcome to fully sponsor a child’s education or healthcare. Please reach out to us if you’d like to learn more. Â
Care For A Child Program aims to promote lasting change in the life of the sponsored child. Your support will provide a child with supplementary nutrition, education and healthcare. This gives a chance for children to experience a normal, healthy and happy childhood.
Child sponsorship is generally a long-term commitment, up to 5 years or more. You may sponsor the same child as long as the child completes high school or till such time that the child stands on his/her own independently. Occasionally there may be an instance where the sponsored child leaves the program, your support continues to inspire change for another child who has been awaiting sponsorship.
The relationship between you and your sponsored child will grow and develop through regular communications. Once you have sponsored a child, you will receive a welcome letter that includes information about the child and a photograph. Throughout the year, you will also receive updates, newsletters and seasonal greetings from your sponsored child.Â
Yes! You can sponsor as many children as you like!
We understand the realities of individual financial situations. If you need to discontinue your child sponsorship, we will work to identify another person to take your place in supporting your sponsored child. We also invite you to participate in that process by advocating with family, friends, and co-workers to help to identify a new sponsor for the child you support.Â
Yes! You are welcome to write a note of encouragement to your sponsored child. To do so please email it to support@careforachild.org. The letters will be delivered to your sponsored child but we can’t guarantee you will get a response back.
If you are willing to bear complete expenses for a child, then yes, you will be the only sponsor. But if you wish to contribute only for education or only for maintenance, we will take multiple sponsors to meet the other expenses.
